The Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts, a non-profit organization that provides cultural experiences and promotes art in general to the people of the heartland, was established in 1991. Over the last 25 years, the organization transformed a few New Rockford vacated buildings into a center that’s filled with cultural activity.
This is the site of the Historic Opera House and the complex also includes a wonderful stage theater, a dance studio, a wine bar, a coffee shop, and a gift shop. A second building location was donated in 2011, leading to the renovation and opening of the Old Church Theatre. DPRCA shall inspire, educate, and entertain audiences by providing a wide range of artistic presentations. It shall also serve as a resource and a gathering place for the community at large by providing art related education and programming opportunities.

New Rockford’s Historic Theatre is featuring first-run movies and blockbuster films. In 2012, the theater upgraded to digital sound projection and it provides a fantastic film experience that the whole family can enjoy. Hearing-impaired customers can now also benefit from headphones and monitor devices.
The Vine Intervention Wine Club
The wine club is found in the Historic Opera House, at Jack’s Tavern Wine Bar. The wine club organizes monthly wine tasting evenings in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The New Rockford area offers some of the best fishing and hunting in North Dakota. The area is full of upland game and deer, and the lakes and rivers are full of fish. Sheyenne River, James Rivers, Devils Lake, and Warsing Dam are fishing hotspots around New Rockford.
New Rockford Golf Course & Events Center
The New Rockford Golf Course is a 9-hole course that comes with all contemporary facilities and plush greens. The golf course is situated just north of New Rockford. The course hosts quite a few tournaments during the golf season, and also a ladies’ and a men’s night. There is a nice terrace, a full-service restaurant, there are cart rental and storage facilities, and so on.
Steam Threshers Reunion
The Eddy County Fairground is the location where every year in September you can see history come alive. This is the “Central North Dakota’s Steam Threshers Reunion”, a show where you can marvel at all sorts of antique farm equipment. There’s also a re-built Pioneer Village and you can enjoy many demonstrations of logging, spinning, blacksmithing, rope making, and loom weaving. The festival boasts all sorts of crafts, live music, dancing, food, a flea market, and an antique fair.
